A public announcement on the Spring 2016 Issue of Door Is A Jar Magazine
Dear Door Is A Jar contributors and readers,
We apologize for the delay in the release of our Spring 2016 Issue. We intended to release the magazine at the end of May, but we have experienced some unforeseen complications that have interfered with our deadline.
One of the stipulations we have set in our guidelines is that we do not accept previously published work. Simultaneous submissions are fine, but we request that you notify us when the work is accepted elsewhere. However, several contributors, including the artist who had the piece we wanted to use for the cover, did not respect our policy. We have contacted these people, so if you did not receive an email from us about this problem, your work will still be published.
We originally intended on having both a print and digital run of the magazine. We had begun printing when the issue with the cover and other pieces were discovered. There were a number of expenses in canceling the print run. Unfortunately, we will not be able to do a print run for the Spring 2016 Issue as we had hoped.
There will still be a digital issue. We are currently redesigning the magazine, including a new cover, removing all previously published work, adjusting the table of contents, etc. We plan on having the digital version of the Spring 2016 Issue ready by next week, and as an apology on our part for these delays, the magazine will be free.
Thank you for being patient with us. We will announce the release of the magazine on our website, Facebook and Twitter.
